Quote from “Eat This Not That For KIds” by David Zinczenko
Survival Strategy: Cornell researchers have discovered a “health halo” at Subway, which refers to the tendency to reward yourself or your kid with chips, cookies and large soft drinks because the entree is healthy. Avoid the halo and all will be well.

This is a quick and delicious treat from “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. www.cspinet.org/nah
For a pre-spring berry sorbet for two, toss 2 cups of frozen mixed berriers or strawberries (about 15) into a blender with 4 Tblsps. orange and, if youd’d like, a splash of lime juice. Blend until smooth, then scoop into two bowls and serve immediately or freeze.
Your kids will love this guilt-free treat and so will the adults in your life.

There is no food that taste any better to me than the combination of peanut butter and chocolate. I can polish off a bag of minature peanut butter cups in the same fashion that most people consume a bag of potato chips; unfortunately this is neither figure or heart friendly. To satisfy my love for the combination of chocolate and peanut butter I created a Chocolate-Peanut Butter Smoothie.
1/2 cup low-fat or non-fat yogurt
1/2 cup milk (your choice)
2 Tblsps. unsweetened cocoa (like Hersheys)
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 Tblsp. honey or pure maple syrup
2 Tblsps. natural peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
1 small frozen banana, cut into chuncks before freezing
Place ingredients into blender in order listed, blend until smooth, you may need to scrape sides of blender with spatula. Pour into large serving glass and enjoy!
